Join us with host Emily Reilly for a discussion on what prevents and us from effective communication to interrupt racism, and to share strategies and tools on what we’ve had success with in engaging and inviting other white folks into the work. We will begin the discussion by sharing what barriers and challenges we have in communicating with other white folks about racism. All are invited to participate as much or little as best fits your comfort level.
Emily is founder of Healing White People, and is passionate about sharing her experiences and learning to support other white folks develop their anti-racist engagement, and she enjoys continuing her lifelong anti-racism education by learning and collaborating with other white folks in community. Bill Aal will lead a meditation to begin and we will close by sharing this month’s family recipe.
We suggest a $5 donation, no one will be turned away. Registration is now open and free of charge for all because we will be launching Patron-like membership subscription levels in September. The entry level is $5/ which provides a ticket to each drop-in and access to 1 podcast each month. We are excited to offer these to provide an accessible way for us to support a variety of needs, interests, and income levels, while allowing us to sustain this work. We encourage you to register now and join when we launch the membership levels.
Our monthly drop-in events are open events to welcome our communities and their networks into this work. These are casual interactive events to share knowledge, get to know each other, build community, and deepen our commitment to racial Justice and collective healing. Hosts will present introductions on rotating topics followed by discussion in which participants are welcome to participate as little or as much as they feel comfortable. We hope to see you and encourage you to invite anyone who would appreciate the space.
